So we had our party last weekend and it was a blast. Lot's of people, much to drink, and a general good time. All week long I have been feeling like crap however. I was initially blaming it on the Patron, however I found out yesterday that one of my guests also has the flu this week (F.U. Greg). It almost feels like I am coming down with strep or something like that...flu or what not. I am feverish, slightly delusional, and totally out of it. This really sucks for two reasons, the Van Halen concert - which there is no way I could make it through that, and I leave this weekend for the SEMA show in Las Vegas...there is probably no way I will make it through that the way I feel right now - so I must focus on getting well, really quickly. I don't want to be sick out in Vegas. I will try to get some things done at work here and head back home to sleep.
Poor me....anyway I wanted to let you know I will be posting to the blog all throughout the SEMA show with my new iPhone, you knew it would happen eventually, since apple is my dark lord. Check back often for pictures and commentary of all the wacky happenings going down at SEMA, and Vegas on Halloween.

Grandview Man Charged in Wreck that Killed Two
By KEVIN HOFFMANN The Kansas City Star
Authorities today charged a Grandview man with two counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with a wreck last month that killed a grandfather and his granddaughter.Jackson County Prosecutor Jim Kanatzar announced the charges against William K. Johnson, 49, this morning at a press conference. According to court documents filed in the case, Johnson was driving a 1985 Chevrolet pickup on Raytown Road when the truck struck the bicycles of Larry and Sierra Gaunt. Larry Gaunt, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene. Sierra, 14, was taken to a hospital where she later died. The court documents allege that Johnson was speeding before he struck the cyclists and that his truck drifted off the roadway due to inattention. Johnson overcompensated, the documents allege, and the truck skidded before impacting the bikes. "The majority of vehicular fatalities do not result in criminal charges," Kanatzar said. "There are times when a driver's actions constitute a crime and that driver needs to be held accountable." The charges are both felonies that carry maximum sentences of seven years in prison. The area where the wreck happened is near Longview Lake south of Harry S. Truman Drive. Family members have said that Larry Gaunt, and avid cyclist, and Sierra were training for the MS 150 bike ride when the wreck occurred. It would have been Sierra's first ride in the event.

Here's the deal. I am 34, a buyer for an Automotive distributor (to which I know very little about cars), I have two children, Alexandra the Buzzo, my beautiful daughter whom is 11 and my boy Max who is 7. Max is a Type1 diabetic, yes that means the injection kind, and was diagnosed when he was five. My lovely wife's name is Vanessa and together we share a home in Raymore, Missouri, which is labeled as the garden spot of Missouri (major league bullshit). Although we do have a very nice home, it is straight up suburban nightmare. Along with this are our two dog's, both Boston Terriers, Killer Dog (KD) and Rocky.
I love the outdoors. Hiking, backpacking, etc. My most recent love is road biking. I also enjoy recreational running, God knows whats next...I would assume mountain biking as the natural progression. I guess I can be labeled as having a short attention span, drifting from hobby to hobby and spending way too much money (according to the little lady) along the way on all sorts of toys, equipment, and gear. I'm not sure...maybe I am looking for something more, who knows.
Anyway, I read a lot of blog's and thought, what the hell, I will start my own. Although it will probably focus mostly on outdoors stuff and my ever expanding desire to acquire new hobbies and toys, I am sure I will veer off in to other directions that will serve as some type of therapy for me. For the most part this is for me. We already have a family blog which can be checked out at http://thescavuzzos.blogspot.com/ , feel free to check it out.
Sorry about the above pic, I was entertaining my kids. Anyway, be nice you bastards....and away we go.
